Showtune Social Club
A monthly Broadway sing out event—just for the joy of it.
Showtune Social Club is a monthly gathering for musical theatre lovers of all backgrounds to come together, sing in harmony, and reconnect with the reason we fell in love with this art form in the first place: community, collaboration, joy, singing our faces off, and of course our collective love of Broadway musicals.
Each month, we rehearse and sing iconic musical theatre repertoire in full harmony—no auditions, no pressure, no performance expectations. Whether you’re a seasoned professional, an educator, a student, or someone who simply misses singing with others, this space is for you.
Our Mission
The Showtune Social Club exists to:
Build friendships across the Twin Cities musical theatre community
Create a low-stakes environment to rehearse and sing well in harmony
Foster genuine connection, conversation, and learn about new opportunities from other actors
Highlight and celebrate local artists as featured soloists
Reclaim musical theatre as something joyful, communal, and human—not competitive
There are no auditions. No egos. No pressure to be “on.” Just voices in a room, singing together for the sheer love of it.
What to Expect
Group rehearsal of a musical theatre selection, taught accessibly and entertainingly by, music director and voice teacher, Aaron VanDanacker
Opportunities to sing harmony regardless of experience level
Featured local artists sharing solo moments
Built-in time to socialize, connect, and meet new people
A supportive, inclusive atmosphere where we grow TOGETHER
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. You don’t need to prove yourself. You just need to come ready to sing and connect.
Who It’s For
Showtune Social Club is for anyone who loves musical theatre:
Performers, directors, music directors, and educators
Students and emerging artists
Community and professional theatre folks
Anyone who misses singing showtunes with other humans
If you’ve ever thought, “I just want to sing for fun again,” this is for you.
Why It Matters
In an industry that often feels competitive, isolating, and high-stakes, Showtune Social Club is a reminder that musical theatre is, at its core, communal. It’s about harmony—musically and socially. It’s about being in the room together.
Come sing. Come hang. Come fall in love with it!
