Welcome to AV Vocal Studio! We are your one-stop-shop for musical theatre training in the Twin Cities. Our certified staff of voice, dance, and acting experts will equip you will all the necessary skills to reach the next level in your training. We value artists who lead with their hearts and are proud of the AV Vocal Studio students and alumni who can proudly say they are Quadruple Threats: brilliant storytellers, singers, dancers, and incredibly kind artists!
AV Vocal Studio specializes in college preparedness and is here to help you navigate that journey!
In your lessons, you will add new tools to your personalized "bag of tricks" that will help you on your journey to unlocking your full potential in the three major disciplines of musical theatre! Once your personal needs and goals are established, our team will use technique exercises and repertoire to guide each lesson. You will learn new techniques, increase your stylistic versatility, learn new ways to manage performance anxiety, health and safety, and so much more. We are looking forward to working with you!
Voice Lessons
Voice lessons are always individually crafted to YOU and your goals! No two singers are the same, so no two lessons should be the same either. Aaron teaches every student using the most up-to-date vocal science from his multiple certifications in voice pedagogy. Each lesson will employ tools to address a singer’s current needs and help them find Vocal Balance.
Our goals for every singer is that you sing with CONNECTION (singing between head voice and chest voice free of any major breaks or gaps) and BALANCE (no part of your voice feels more breathy or more squeezed than any other part), and most importantly that it is HEALTHY and you LIKE HOW YOU SOUND.
Our multi-certified voice teacher, Aaron, is trained to help you sing at your best across many different vocal styles. His students can be found singing on Broadway and Off-Broadway stages, National Tours, top musical theatre colleges and universities, regional and amateur stages, schools, and so much more! He is proud to work with the kindest and most hard-working students!
Aaron’s studio is currently prioritizing students preparing for college musical theatre degree programs.
At this time, Aaron's private studio is full and unable to take new recurring students. You are welcome to schedule one-off lessons as they become available. If you are a high schooler and would like to be placed on the waiting list, please email hello@avvocalstudio.com. Dance Lessons
We are proud to work with one of the best dance teachers in the Twin Cities: Tegan Jones NewKirk! Tegan is a kind, detailed, and rigorous teacher, bringing her teaching and performing skills into her lessons with YOU.
In your dance lesson, you will build technical proficiency across multiple styles while developing the performance quality and character work that musical theatre demands. Tegan integrates foundational technique with storytelling, helping students learn to embody character and narrative through movement. No matter the dance style, you'll learn all the skills you need to excel in auditions and productions!
AV Vocal Studio is especially excited to help high school students prepare for college auditions to both dance and musical theatre degree programs. Most colleges require a 60-second pre-choreographed routine to be filmed and submitted before you can be accepted into the program. Tegan’s “College Audition Choreography Package” is here to help you navigate this process. This package includes your own uniquely designed choreography and three lessons to learn, polish, and record this material.
